Cape Flats residents would rather live in fear than provide information to the police about gangsters' activities. Despite their silence, Western Cape police have arrested nine suspects in connection with 14 incidents of mass murders across Cape Town since January. Police spokesperson, Colonel Andre Traut, said the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit had been hard at work clamping down on criminals who inflict fear in communities.
