In a letter addressed to the court on Wednesday, Zungu Incorporated, the law firm representing Zuma and the MK Party, expressed that the timeframe provided for their response could have been more timely. The IEC asserted that its application introduced significant and novel constitutional issues and couldn’t afford to await the court’s rationale.The ANC has pledged to contest the Durban High Court’s ruling from Monday, which granted permission to the uMkhonto weSizwe Party to retain the name and emblem of the ruling party’s former liberation-era military unit.
