In terms of the 21-day lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19, no one is allowed to leave their homes unless under strictly controlled circumstances.

The biological father of a 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly “forcefully abducting” the child from his mother’s house in Pretoria on Sunday.

Following this incident, the deputy minister in the presidency responsible for women, youth and persons with disabilities, Hlengiwe Mkhize, said she was concerned about cases of child abduction. The father has been arrested and is being detained at the Lyttleton police cells in Pretoria. The child has been reunited with his mother.
