DA's Helen Zille’s 10 years as WC premier – a leader and rabble rouser helenzille

CAPE TOWN - Helen Zille delivered her swansong State of the Province Address in February, drawing a line under 10 years as the Western Cape Premier.

Zille also used her speech to highlight the spending choices her government has made, saying 82% of the province’s budget goes to the poor, and referencing a drive that’s seen 80% of the province’s schools connected to free internet. In 2012, Zille’s tweet on “education refugees” from neighbouring Eastern Cape sparked widespread condemnation.

Zille eventually issued a formal apology for the tweet, but a year later once again issued a series of tweets about colonialism, that led to another caution by party structures. Zille was also sometimes surprising: she once publicly backed Minister of Basic Education Angie Motsheka - an ANC minister - when she was in the cross hairs, saying she had fulfilled her constitutional responsibilities better than her predecessors.

She spoke about the efficiency of her administration and her appointments. Yet, when one takes a deep-dive into her administration, one will see she has been guilty of equating the word ‘capable’ as a synonym for ‘white’ and ‘male’. AmbassadoRasool I wonder why anyone still gives Ebrahim 'brown envelope' Rasool any airtime AmbassadoRasool This guy is a know brainless ska donk trying to raise his dead horse ANC ... let him dream AmbassadoRasool If I have to choose between the TWO EVILS OF CORRUPTION AND RACISM,I will choose the latter with the hope that when a new Government of the EFF takes over, the State is not bankrupt.

They’ve placed jobs, basic services and the fight against corruption at the top of its agenda. White man’s false promise of jobs. Why can’t he say he wants an entrepreneur in every home. DA wants black ppl to be job seekers and whites to be job providers. Musi is a surrogate, jobs are not a solution, we want our land to do business & be self reliant. DA want to enslave us.
