Alan Winde has been re-elected as the premier of the Western Cape after his party, the DA, bagged the lion's share of the provincial vote in the general elections in May. Winde and 42 MPLs were sworn in on Thursday by Acting Western Cape Judge President Patricia Goliath. DA MPL Tertuis Simers nominated Winde as the premier, while ANC MPL Rachel Windvoegel nominated Khalid Sayed.Winde said he was honoured to be re-elected:"It's an absolute honour to receive the majority vote in this house.
