Image:South Africans will no longer be paying exorbitant prices for Covid-19 tests after an investigation into “unfairly inflated, exorbitant and, or unjustifiable” prices charged to consumers by private laboratories.The PCR tests detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus, and are now the standard proof for travel and other purposes.
On October 8, the commission received a formal complaint from the Council for Medical Schemes against private pathology laboratories alleging that the price for supplying PCR tests for Covid-19 are “unfairly inflated, exorbitant and, or unjustifiable”.

Including VAT?, why are there VAT being charged?, is this corrupted goverment not already gaining to much by exploiting its citizens. Taxed to death!
R500 is still high,, these tests should be free..klaar
Why? Is that because they don’t really work…
And they are still making a killer mark up of R400 per test!!!
Can Medical Aid be used?
Check medical aid also. Everything so overpriced in SA. Another ongoing project
Frankly that test has always been overpriced and at R500 it remains overpriced.
