COVID19 | Mask-free and 'low risk', Italy welcomes milestone

Italians across the country will be able to enjoy outdoor life mask free from MondayROME - All of Italy became a mask-free,"low-risk" zone for coronavirus Monday, marking a dramatic milestone for the first European country to be hit by the global pandemic in February 2020.

That means facemasks will no longer be compulsory in outdoor areas -- welcome news across the country where an ongoing heatwave is expected to push temperatures past 40 degrees Celsius in some southern areas this week. The final region got the all-clear for dropping masks in a decree announced Saturday, taking effect MondayA third of Italy's population over the age of 12 has been vaccinated as of Sunday, or 17,572,505 people, according to the government.

Well it's first world country, if we were still a first world country under Apartheid regime, could also be like them but hey now we are back in the continent.Where development means corruption, violence, thieving etc.

SBWL🙄

🕯🕯🕯

We'll never be mask free in SA 😔

We not there yet.

Italy is one of the king makers country, and Africa still under colonial mentality, African presidents are still licking colonial masters Asses, that's why we are, still in trouble and having this plandemic among us.

The difference is their government was truly worried about its people, as for SA government they want to run us as a dictatorship, dont give a hoot about its people, but definitely care about who can give them money and vaccines for free, get rid of them put people in that care.

Yes that was one of the countries in the world that was worst hit. Compare that to Africa and especially South Africa, Namibia and others..... Absolutely disturbing and disgusting incompetence!!!!

Wow great news, barely 12 months ago this nation was at their knees stricken by the pandemic. Perhaps South Africa should follow closely on their example and concentrate their every effort with joint assistance by European nations to help rollout the vaccines. Y DO WE LAG?
