Gauteng Health spokesperson Kwara Kekana said the court order obtained on Friday meant the department had successfully interdicted the church.
She said the department had been made aware of concerns about the church gathering from members of the public. “Mass gatherings expose people to great risk. The measures that have been announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa are put in place to help contain and prevent the further spread of Covid-19,” said Kekana.
This is a sensitive one. Religious freedom. But why is the health department busy with the church? Should the plan not be to work on a vaccine? Or get more test kits from our counterparts? Or build more hospitals? It will be interesting to see what the court rules.
Which church refuses to comply?
Why waste tax payers money....there is a law....enforce it
