The programme which brings into focus the devastating impact that GBV and femicide have on women and children is being launched at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.

The spokesperson for Social Development in KZN, Mhlaba Memela, says accountability is at the heart of preventing domestic violence tragedies. He says they're concerned about new reports emerging from the Ugu district, on the south coast. "Ugu is also the area that has a number of incidents of GBV where you'll find that there's an assault between the genders. It might be between a girlfriend and boyfriend or a father assaulting his children. It’s an incident every week that gets reported."
