PSL veteran goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb caught up with SLTV to chat about his career, his time at Bloemfontein Celtic, and his age.
The Cameroon-born goalkeeper shared how he started out in football. From an early age, Tignyemb loved the game and originally started out as a striker. However, when the team goalkeeper didn’t show up during a youth tournament, his coach asked him to stand in goal. After winning the award for the goalkeeper of the tournament, the no-nonsense shot-stopper made that position his own.
Despite his parents urging him to focus on his studies, his talent and hard work shone through and by 2008, he signed his first professional contract with Bloemfontein Celtic, which would see him become a regular in Mangaung for 11 years, before his move to Chippa United in 2019.
