Police Minister Bheki Cele on Monday urged South Africans to make use of the 24-hour toll-free number of the Ipid to report police misconduct.

Cape Town – Police Minister Bheki Cele on Monday urged South Africans to make use of the 24-hour toll-free number of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate to report police misconduct.

Ntlatseng said the receptionist would register the call and give the complainant a reference number. Once a complaint was registered, it would be allocated to an investigator. "It is important that people start talking to us as a directorate. It is better for justice and recourse to our own people," Ntlatseng said.

What is the process when you call? This can’t be anonymous, as we would expect. With CallerID, IPID can call you back to say you must testify in Court, else it stop there.

I called that number and it doesn’t work. Go figure.

They’re no willing to work those ones especially if it’s not a trending news they’re also scared of the police especially TRT. They’ll duck and dive for the whole decade until u give up

Who will be arresting the officers?
