A Kaizer Chiefs striker finally raised his hand to be counted after breaking the strikers’ duck of six games without a goal on Saturday.

Leonardo Castro scored a brace to help his team secure a hard-fought point in the 2-2 draw against Arrows in their DStv Premiership fixture at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, Durban.

Chiefs’ attackers had failed to score in all their previous games this season with the only direct goals coming from defender Yagan Sasman in the 2-1 win over Maritzburg United in the MTN8 quarterfinals last month.The stuttering Amakhosi now have five points from four games in the Premiership – one win, two draws and a loss.Chiefs showed signs of improvement after the Fifa international break, which gave coach Gavin Hunt time to iron out some tactics.

Arrows were the first to get onto the scoresheet in the 49th minute with Siboniso Conco scoring from the spot. That goal awoke the visitors as they looked to reply immediately. It was not long before Chiefs equalised through Castro in the 58th minute. The Colombian gave his team the lead with a header in the 65th minute.
