Sixty learners from Princeton Secondary in Woodlands participated in an environmental educational programme at Westridge Gardens in celebration of World Earth Day.
On Thursday, 20 April, the City’s Recreation and Parks and Environmental Management Departments joined forces to host a group of 60 learners from Princeton Secondary in Mitchells Plain. ‘It’s imperative that we pass the baton to our young people, and generate sustained interest in environmental matters,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health Councillor Patricia Van der Ross.
The City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment Eddie Andrews, added that climate change will have a huge impact on Cape Town in the coming decades.
