Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis is fuming after struggling to get the national Department of Public Works to attend to its neglected buildings.
On Wednesday, the mayor addressed a virtual council meeting saying the municipality would start actively"naming and shaming" decaying buildings belonging to the department. "We have not got any movement from the national Department of Public Works, and we have to name and shame where buildings are owned by the department. We have not received any answers," he said.
