The top 20 list refers to airports being punctual. With an 87.26% on-time performance and a 1.02% cancellation rate, Cape Town International Airport has taken the 16th spot.
Mireille Wenger, who is the Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities for the Western Cape, talked about the first numbers that Airports Company South Africa gave her.The numbers reflect that Cape Town International Airport showed “a spectacular recovery” in passenger numbers during the peak season when compared to pre-pandemic numbers.
The airport recorded 266,656 international two-way passengers for December 2022, pointing towards a 95% recovery when compared to December 2019.Along with our airport, our airlines are being recognised for their functioning and quality performance. According to a ranking by OAG, a UK-based global travel data provider, FlySafair is the second most on-time airline in the world.FlySafair’s on-time performance was at 95.3%, and this was despite operating 47% more flights in 2022 than in 2019. The airline also had a 0.02% cancellation rate.carrier operating from any ACSA-operated airport.Capetonians can rest assured that travelling by plane to and from our city will likely always be a reliable and quality experience.
