Post Office reassures social grant recipients
The Institute for Economic Justice warns discontinuation of the grants will lead to a humanitarian crisis. Neil Coleman from the Institute said,"imagine that a grant of R350, for a month, has to get an unemployed person and their dependents through, it's unbelievable to imagine the struggles that people have. A caregiver's grant is R500.""These are tiny amounts introduced by the government when the COVID lockdown hit, under the assumption that six months later, the economy would have bounced back and these people would have been able to improve their living standards.
"All the research shows the effects of the lockdown continue to be devastating for many, many people." Coleman estimates almost 13 million South Africans are grant recipients -- not including dependents -- and if it is not dealt with, will lead to a nationwide humanitarian crisis.

The first priority is to create jobs for our young people. The culture created by ANC of food parcels, T-shirts and social grants is not sustainable.
Do people actually realise where these grants come from? The government doesn’t actually print money and dish it out. It all comes from income tax! When most of us lost our business, jobs, income, there is def no money for extra grants! If govt hadn’t stolen/mismanaged tax maybe!

The relief grants should indeed be extended... People can use the money to apply for jobs
