From financial to digital, as well as contact crimes and fraud, here are the worst offences and how you can protect yourself against them.

Financial losses per incident showed a 9% increase from the previous year.Phishing continued to be the preferred method for illegally gaining access to confidential personal banking information. Total losses from online banking profiles increased by 68% from R219 million to R363 million. This segment accounted for 46% of digital banking crimes, making it the most targeted area.It can’t all be bad. And, impressively, the report showed a 39% decrease in branch-before-deposit robberies.
