Attacq believes 'sole ownership of the mall will allow control over the asset in influencing growth and trade'.

JSE-listed property counter Attacq Limited, a strategic development partner in Waterfall City, announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary Attacq Waterfall Investment Company has acquired the remaining 20% stake in Mall of Africa from Atterbury Group for R1.07 billion.

As South Africa’s largest shopping centre built in a single phase, the mall boasts just over 130 000m² of retail space. However, Fourways Mall, Menlyn Park and Gateway Theatre of Shopping are SA’s biggest super-regional malls currently – all with more than 170 000m² of gross lettable area. Additionally, it houses Attacq’s SOOK space, providing on-demand leasing solutions for small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs.
