South Africa Headlines News

The African Transformation Movement Youth League has called on the death penalty for those who are found guilty of heinous crimes, including gender-based violence.

The ATMYL said young people were suffering disproportionately high levels of murder, femicide, and racism.

Also touching on Youth Day, the ATMYL said the material conditions of young black people had not changed, 44 years after June 16, 1976.

Nonsense

Death penalty won't decrease GBV.

In the past two years I've seen over 5 men who were arrested for an average of 10years each on a charge of rape only to be discovered after 10yrs that they didn't rape. Now that would have been 5 innocent dead men killed by the state cause of the death penalty...

A penalty that is viewed by some as a silver bullet that will resolve moral degeneration in constitutional democracy

Let me tell you something good people, ANC won't bring back death penalty coz there is a lot of criminals in the cabinet that would also be affected by it so the rather keep quiet while our kids nd women are dying 😥😥😥

Studies have shown that Capital punishment is not proven to deter such acts. Why not call for life sentence first? Who will agree to conduct this business of hanging or injecting ppl with lethal drugs? Life sentence carries 25yrs Constitutionally viable

Seconded !!! I stan✊

Hang them or bullet at the nape of the neck.

I support this. Death penalty can be the only solution.

I support this view

End paroles!! Paroles are the ones which are taking us down!

That should work.

Death penalty is not the right option in South Africa due to the weakness of our justice system... Do you know how many people are behind bars even though they didn't commit whatever they got charged for? Even ladies can sleep with you then later say you raped them

Would they still maintain should it be revealed that a woman is involved in the killing of another woman?

The RLF calls on Government to pass a Law NOW that will ensure that murderous and Rapists are sentenced to 80 YEARS in Prison without Parole and Clemency.

I fully support death penalty on murderous killing their partners. Hang the basterds 😡🤬

o_arabile_m Lmfao nope

As long as you guys remember that both ATMovement_SA and BLF were projects of the corrupt Guptas!

Flash the white racist judges out of the system then bring back the death penalty. Retire old black incompetent judges as well.

Only for GBV? There are many other grizzly crimes that one would think should be punishable by death.

I wonder if people realise how expensive it is to have a death penalty... The state will have to pay lawyers more because trials and appeals will take longer since no one actually wants to kill someone who might be innocent.

They should come with something better because death penalty is a history that has been killed and buried 1000 feet downwards
