A veteran of more than 300 career appearances, Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has featured just once for the club this season, with that appearance coming in the club's MTN 8 quarter-final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns back in August.
Despite Khune's lack of minutes on the pitch, however, interim coach Arthur Zwane insists that the former Bafana Bafana star is still an important figure in the dressing room and that he will be ready to play if and whenever called upon this season. "It's just a matter of selection. Brandon [Peterson] has been doing well, Bruce [Bvuma] has been doing well, and [Daniel] Akpeyi as well. There is that competition but should an opportunity arise again, surely he will get his fair share.
