The SIU will be launching an investigation into several government departments of the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal.
Currently, the SIU is also investigating corruption allegations in the Department of Home Affairs, PRASA and NSFAS. The SIU will investigate the affairs of the Free State Department of Public Works & Infrastructure and Human Settlements and the Free State Provincial Legislature. Additionally, the proclamations also make the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport free game for the agency as well.
For the KZN Department of Transport, the SIU will take a special look into the allegations that maladministration took place during the construction of the Mngwenya River, Umlalazi River, Mhlathuze, and Phethu River Bridges.
