CPF members in southern Johannesburg are on scene at the Klipriver Drive overpass next to the N12 highway where a petrol tanker has overturned.

Mike Fontes, CPF chairperson for Mondeor and the PRO for the Johannesburg Cluster Policing Board, says the accident occurred at about 3pm this afternoon.

"The truck was traveling on N12 motorway eastbound and looks like it climbed the embankment and hit the bridge of the Kliprivier Drive overpass.""The truck has spilt some petrol, so I expect the authorities to close the N12 in that section. For now, we are trying to create a safety cordon of 300m to 500m wide, but the proximity of the highway is making that difficult. We want the cordon in place while we are waiting for the hazmat team to attend to the situation.

JMPD members on scene. A section of the N12 highway in southern Johannesburg has been closed down by the JMPD after a petrol tanker overturned on the Klipriver Drive overpass and petrol was spilt on the highway."From the preliminary information received the tanker crashed and landed on the embankment next to the N12 East and the driver remains trapped inside the vehicle.

These people are not getting enough time to rest 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I'm no truck expert but' seems 2 me that the truck's not arse or belly ( ehmm I meen wheels? up in the air. More likely't lost its head when smashing in2 the bridge. So I dont know where MSM Whorenalists got that its overturned. But that just me & if corrected I'll stand as such.

A clear distraction from Phala Phala

We must vet these truck drivers. Check all friends and family

Clearly drove straight into the bridge. What kind of reporting happens at

Is this also Infinity Transport?

Wer do they get these drivers. From a taxi rank maybe

Something is going on trucks . Pitbulls and guess what guess what the new version of Covid is here

Cable theft==Side tippers==Pitbulls==Now we have a tanker problem

'Overturned'? It drove straight into the side of the bridge. Terrible journalism.

This is the 3rd tanker accident within a few weeks. It seems the truck companies are hiring unskilled, unqualified & possibly foreign drivers, who are not aware of the laws of our roads, In order to cut costs... How fast was that truck going to overturn on such a busy overpass

Overturned? Went head on into a bridge by the looks of it!

From pitbulls now this🤔

There's something fishy with these tankers I am telling you today and if nothing is done we are going to have a very serious and bigger problem.
