ANC suspends membership of councillor accused of statutory rape

City Press reported on Sunday that the North West provincial EFF leadership opened a case of statutory rape against the councillor on Thursday.

According to IPC spokesperson Kenny Morolong, committee officials resolved to suspend with immediate effect the membership of that councillor, in accordance with the ANC’s constitution“The ANC, as a leader of society, expects all its members, particularly its public representatives, to be at the forefront of the fight against the culture of rape, gender-based violence and patriarchy.

“We wish to condemn in the strongest terms possible the alleged repulsive incident which has not only disappointed us but also enraged us. It has come to light amid escalating incidents of gender-based violence threatening the safety of vulnerable women and children trapped in their homes with perpetrators owing to the state of health disaster lockdown,” Paul Sebegoe, Sanco provincial chairperson said.

The conduct of councillors though.... how are these councillors actyally recruited? Why is it that so many ANC councillors are working hard to destroy our country.🤬

It's no liason if she is 14 it's a rape.
