The African National Congress is considering proposing new legislation to govern coalitions. ECRNewsWatch ANC

The party's national executive committee has been discussing the strategic framework of coalitions at its four-day meeting in Boksburg.

The ANC's head of political education David Makhura says the organisation wants to ensure the stability of coalition governments in the future.He says coalition groups shouldn't disrupt public administration. "This will enable us to ensure that where there are coalition agreements, they are subjected to legal authority, but that they are based on common programmes and agreed on a set of policies to fix the problem."
