I think it was preemptive, somewhat too soon prior to engaging and getting the temperature of how thing are going to go by."Secondly, the pressure the small parties have exerted may have been undermined by the big three including the ANC and EFF.
"We now know that the DA leadership might not be comfortable with Mashaba's candidacy as one that would take Joburg, and lets not forget, Joburg not only offers a symbolic meaning behind its capture but also that prestige that status, so the DA would not want to succumb to any pressure but fight to the end."
