Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng is due to retire today as his term on the Constitutional Court comes to an end. The question to ask now is: How has he changed our country and what mark has he left after his term has ended?

, advocate Khotso Ramolefe explained how he had helped Zuma at one point, and Zuma asked if he could come to dinner. Ramolefe said he invited Mogoeng, then Judge President of North West, because “I didn’t want to be sitting all alone with Mr Zuma at my home, although I could have done that. But I thought I would share the experience with an old friend of mine.”

If it is true that Mogoeng had become a silent supporter of the person who appointed him, this was perhaps the moment that Mogoeng was dragged away from Zuma by his judicial constituency. If he failed to lead judges against Zuma, then he would lose pretty much everything he worked for. While they related to two separate incidents, one followed the other, and perhaps more than anything, will define the longer-term assessments of Mogoeng’s time in office.

Mogoeng was not alone in this. At the start of Zuma’s time in office several religious leaders, including Rhema Church’s Ray, tried to get close to Zuma. As their constituencies started to understand how corrupt Zuma was, they had to be seen to distance themselves, or lose their constituencies., which may well be the longest-lasting piece of Mogoeng’s judicial legacy.

Thirdly, and importantly at the time, was the way in which it was delivered. He delivered it personally, and in full, not just reading the media summary as was often the case before.

Not a man without bias,in an occupation where bias is the arch enemy.

See Mogoeng's denunciation of Covid vaccinatuon:

Mogoeng Mogoeng could not get out of the shadow of the big trees Pius Langa and Ngcobo that came before him. Populism and playing to the gallery were only his downfall. At least I give him 3.5 out of 10.

I saw several people testifying of making so much money with the help of shantelll_142 on Bitcoin option trade and I decided to give a try and now I'm glad now she helped me and my colleagues to make R60,000 in one week, thank you for transparency and trust.

The registrar at South Gauteng High court must be the most corrupt around

Sadly, for a man who should NOT be controversial, this man has been entirely so.....such a pity.....SA deserves better.. somewhat akin to our current political pundits

Courts are still a mess and Clark's still corrupt. He did nothing to modernize the courts

JP Hlophe for Chief Justice!!!

Chief Justine Mogoeng Mogoeng spoke out against the COVID vaccine. Shame on him for misleading his people.
