“For the last five years this road has looked like this. Vehicles end up driving on the pavement, forcing pedestrians to walk on the dirt.“Street lights have not worked since 2016. We reported them until we became accustomed to the unlit streets. So no, the DA hasn’t done anything better than the ANC. For the last five years, I’d say they are worse,” Ntebo lamented.
“All these representatives do now is point fingers at each other and these issues remain unresolved,” the resident said.Asked what the party was most proud of since taking power in 2016, the DA said it had done exceptionally well in terms of financial management. “We inherited a financial mess in 2016 from the ANC which we addressed and saw the credit ratings subsequently improve,” said Jordan Griffiths, acting chief of staff in mayor Randall Williams’ office.
The party was using data more aggressively to address fixing water leaks, the maintenance of aging infrastructure and dealing with illegal electricity connections, he added.Tshwane ANC regional chairperson Kgosi Maepa described the DA’s tenure as “horrid harsh years of abuse and malfeasance”.
