All the NBA games this weekend - and where to watch it

With the 70th NBA All-Star Game behind us, the NBA is officially back for the second half of the season. This weekend’s basketball action will tip off in the early hours of Saturday morning when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Denver Nuggets on ESPN. It will be the first time both teams meet this season. The Nuggets finished the first half of the season with four straight wins, with the Grizzlies defeating the Washington Wizards in their first game after the All-Star break earlier this week.

Denver is 21-15, fifth in the Western Conference and six wins behind the NBA’s best Utah Jazz. Their absolute star is MVP candidate Nikola Jokic. “The Joker” records 27.1 points and 8.6 assists a game, with an incredible 56.7 percent field goal percentage. His main job will be to limit the impact of Jonas Valanciunas, who has been one of the most consistent performers for Memphis this season. Valanciunas’ 11.6 rebounds per game rank him fifth among the league’s top rebounders.

The Thunder won their last two games and will be determined to make it three in a row. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the team in points , assists , blocks and field goal percentage per game. He got 32 points in the Thunder’s win against the Mavs on Thursday night. The weekend concludes with a super Sunday matchup between the league’s best Utah Jazz and the six-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors. The Jazz are 27-9, but lost two in a row right before the All-Star break.

Meanwhile, the Warriors’ worries continue with their fourth consecutive loss on Thursday night. The blowout loss against the Clippers was most memorable for Steph Curry’s fiery speech to his teammates on the sidelines, which may have not produced the results the wanted on Thursday, but they will hope to build on it come Sunday night.
