AGE OF THE ASSASSIN: eThekwini ANCYL’s Mfundo Mokoena becomes latest ANC member to be gunned down in KZN

Gumede faces an array of charges including money laundering and corruption relating to the R340-million Durban Solid Waste tender. After her elections, she stepped aside in line with the ANC’s new rules. Her deputy will take over the reins.

The ANC said Mokoena was part of the dedicated team assigned to rebuild structures of the ANCYL in KwaZulu-Natal. On 3 February 2022 former ANC eThekwini councillor for Clemont, Bheki Mvubu, was shot and killed while he was alighting from his vehicle outside his home in Wyebank. He was shot by three unknown suspects and sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
