Former Free State premier Ace Magashule 's corruption-accused ex-PA has claimed her questioning and detention in the US amounts to mental torture, as her attorney confirmed she would appeal to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to stop her extradition to face trial.
"Her detention, without the option of bail, it can be said that she is suffering mental torture," Moroadi Cholota's attorney, Piet Tibane, told News24 on Wednesday, after he stressed that she had been held in custody since April. This, he said, was in contrast to Cholota's 16 co-accused in the so-called asbestos scam case - including Magashule and politically connected businessman Edwin Sodi - who had all been released on bail.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
