Twenty-one people, mostly children, have been injured in a three-vehicle collision on Sander Road in New Germany Pinetown in Durban on Monday morning, said emergency services.
Rescue Care Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said their paramedics arrived on the scene to find that three vehicles had collided in a rear-end collision. “A taxi carrying 18 school children of primary school age had ploughed into two vehicles. Immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist with the multiple casualty scenes,” said Jamieson in a statement.
“A total of 21 patients had sustained various injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for further care that they required.”
