Ramahlwe Mphahlele is set to return to the scene of his professional debut at Ellis Park as Kaizer Chiefs tackle Sekhukhune United in their penultimate DStv Premiership encounter on Saturday afternoon.
“I will share it [memory] with a few young boys [at Chiefs] to say this is where it all started for me in the Premier Soccer League ,” said Mphahlele. The short trip brings back good memories for Mphahlele, who, in this recollection, harkens back to his first visit to Ellis Park in Johannesburg, 15 years ago as a teenager.
“I have a lot of fond memories of Ellis Park. That’s where I made my first debut against a star-studded Pirates with [Gift] Leremi [Benedict] Vilakazi and [Excellent] Walaza”,” recalls Mphahlele. “We won that game 1-0, and I provided the assist. I was still in high school in grade 10, a kid, so it’s a very special place for me.
