The suspect now faces charges of abuse to a corpse.

SAN ANTONIO — In what it acknowledged was a"very strange" incident, the Zavala County Sheriff's Office investigated the theft of human ashes from a cemetery this week,The agency later said it had taken a man into custody, thanks to a tip. He hasn't been identified, but he faces charges of abuse of a corpse after he"admitted to digging up the ashes and removing them."

Few other details were shared about the unusual theft, which happened at Benito Juarez Cemetery in Crystal City, Texas.
