Zach Braff On His Surprise Emmy Nomination For ‘Ted Lasso’, His ‘Scrubs’ Podcast, And How He Beat Tarantino For A Grammy – Behind The Lens

Hard to believe that Zach Braff was only Emmy nominated once during the entire nine season run of the much acclaimedbut indeed until this year that was his only mention for TV’s highest award, but, surprise surprise, Braff has now received his second Emmy nomination, not as an actor, but as a director this time. Braff is nominated for the second episode, “Biscuits” ofwhich received 20 nominations overall, the highest number ever for a first season comedy series.

He joins me today for this week’s edition of my Deadline video series,to talk about this, and so much more regarding both his directing career and his acting career, the latter including a new film in which he stars opposite Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Tommy Lee Jones. He is also in a new version of for Disney, and will soon direct a new feature film starring Florence Pugh for MGM.
