“We’ve been in ongoing negotiations with Google’s YouTube TV and unfortunately, they have declined to reach a fair deal with us based on market terms and conditions. As a result, their subscribers have lost access to our unrivaled portfolio of networks,” a Disney spokeswoman said in a statement. “We stand ready to reach an equitable agreement with Google as quickly as possible in order to minimize the inconvenience to YouTube TV viewers by restoring our networks.
The companies are fighting over distribution fees for the Disney channels. A sticking point is YouTube TV’s request for a clause that would guarantee it pays the same rate as distributors of a similar size, according to people familiar with the matter. “We’ve held good faith negotiations with Disney for several months. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to reach an equitable agreement before our existing one expired, and their channels are no longer available on YouTube TV,” a YouTube spokeswoman said in a statement. “We know this is frustrating news for our customers, and not what we wanted. We will continue conversations with Disney to advocate on your behalf in hopes of restoring their content on YouTube TV.
Although YouTube TV doesn’t disclose the number of subscribers, a person close to the company said it is more than four million. Its subscriber count tops the traditional pay-TV providers
Later news…ESPN fails to negotiate terms and will no longer appear respectively on the ESPN channel.
Man, forget ESPN. Nat Geo Wild is the TRUE loss.
I’m Mike Weirsky, the lottery winner of $273m in NJ. I’m helping those who are in need with this money. Givers never lack.❤️
Good ….there are lots of other choices. And YouTubeTV platform is far inferior to other streaming options that carry the Disney channels.
Of course, the article is paywalled.
Bye YouTube tv. Awful the greed you put on your customers
Disney being Disney. ESPN is too proud of their network and wants to bilk consumers for content. Kudos to YouTubeTV for fighting for consumers and keeping bills reasonable
*me who ain’t paying for it but using someone’s account*
No great loss
This is great news, the Disney package is so overrated. ESPN the most garbage channel there is.

Greatest trader of all time Geoffreypreud . I never believed it until I experienced it. For a start I deposited $680 to test the waters, in few days I got a return of $2,900. Thanks Geoffrey
Streaming live tv is now more expensive than just getting a 1-2 year contract with Comcast. We don’t have choices because the broadcasters work together to make sure of it. Sports only reason to have live tv nowadays. Suppose could get HD antenna?
