WORK FROM HOME CONTROVERSY: The new policy pushes employees back into the office.

"State employees who requested to keep teleworking had to go through a three-tiered approval system. For those seeking one day a week, they had to get approval from their supervisor. Those who wanted two days a week had to get approval from their department’s cabinet secretary. For three or more days, the governor’s chief of staff had to sign off on it," the Washington Times reported. It went into effect on July 5.

The resignations include 183 from the Virginia Department of Transportation, 28 of which specifically cited telework opportunities as their reason to leave. The Virginia Department of Health had 78 resignations, while 37 employees resigned from the Virginia Employment Commission, seven resigned from Virginia’s Department of Housing and Community Development and six resigned from Virginia’s Department of Emergency Management, per the report.

Entitled, spoiled workers should not be entitled to unemployment benefits if they choose to resign. Laziness should not be rewarded.

JayCaruso R gov saving taxpayer money

Hey republicans, EVERYONE who has worked for trump has been arrested, fired, subpoenaed, convicted, pardoned, or has asked for a pardon. And all your interested in is Hunter Biden’s laptop. Wow!

JayCaruso That’s one way to shrink the size of government 👏👏👏

Good riddance … and when the companies that yield to this lacking work ethic succumb to market forces to companies that actually deliver and respond to their customers timely, we’ll see who has a job in the end. Meantime he’s trimming the bureaucratic fat. Well done.

Fewer government workers is usually a good thing

Maybe they can apply it toward Biden

Probably should leave. They can be replaced if needed.

300 fewer government employees. Well, that’s a good start…..

That is what it should be now man up and get toys butts back to the office

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Covid either. People just don't want to go back to the office setting because they are now spoiled. No daycare to pay for, they can work in their pajamas, or just plain laziness. People are more productive when they are in the office. imo

Before re-staffing these positions the GovernorVA’s management team needs to assess just how productive and essential they were. Might be an opportunity for some cost cutting.

🧐

Good for him. You want a paycheck? GO TO WORK per your BOSS' ORDERS.

Sounds like their is work opportunity in Virginia Good pay benefits and a pension

super! downsize government! end the bloat!
