Daniel Logan, who plays a young BobaFett in AttackOfTheClones, reveals he didn't know JangoFett died until the film's premiere: 'I didn’t know that he got his head chopped off. So we went to the premiere and it was like that: ‘AWWW!'

Daniel Logan, who played a young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones, reveals that he didn’t know Jango Fett died until the film’s premiere. Although Boba Fett has been one of the most iconic Star Wars characters since his first appearance back during the franchise’s original trilogy, his backstory was not fleshed out until the prequel trilogy nearly two decades later.

During Episode II, Obi-Wan Kenobi travels to the planet Kamino where he meets a young Boba Fett, and Boba’s father, Jango Fett . Not only is Jango Fett revealed to be one of the fiercest bounty hunters in the galaxy, but Jango’s DNA is also the template for an army of clone troopers that have been commissioned behind the backs of the Jedi. Along with all of the reveals surrounding Jango, Obi-Wan also learns that Boba is not Jango’s biological son, but an unaltered clone of him.

“So what happened was George actually forgot about this scene and he didn’t… we only had like me, him, and like one camera guy or something – there wasn’t many people. And George, I was just getting out of my wardrobe, and he comes in the wardrobe room and he’s like ‘Where’s my Boba Fett?’ And, like, well somewhere around here he has these like collectibles.

Lucas’ omission of Jango’s death to Logan is interesting considering how pivotal that scene is to Boba’s character arc going forward. After all, while Boba does not appear in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith as Logan jokes, he’s prevalent in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as an up-and-coming bounty hunter intent on getting revenge on Mace Windu.

Ultimately, Jango’s death is a critical moment for Boba, but Jango’s lifestyle as a bounty hunter also influences Boba for much of his life. It isn’t until The Book Of Boba Fett during the post-original trilogy era that Boba’s life as a bounty hunter seems entirely behind him. Ironically, since Logan’s Boba was a copy of Morrison’s Jango, Morrison now portrays an older Boba Fett in a series like The Book Of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.
