After airing for five seasons, Yellowstone finally ends up on the top streaming charts for the first time while surpassing 1 billion viewing minutes.

The Paramount Network original series Yellowstone lands in the top streaming charts for the first time in five seasons. Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone first premiered in 2018 and is currently in the middle of season 5 airing on the Paramount cable network, with the streaming rights currently owned by NBC's Peacock streaming service. Yellowstone follows a ranching family in Montana who face off against others encroaching on their land in modern-day Montana.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY According to Variety, Tyler Sheridan's popular Yellowstone series has risen up the rankings and landed in the top streaming charts for the first time since it started airing. Tracked by Nielsen, the company says the show was likely helped by not having a new season 5 episode on Paramount Network that week. Yellowstone's most recent season 5 episode aired on January 1, with the show going on mid-season hiatus until summer 2023.

The numbers suggest that most of Yellowstone's audience is on cable through the Paramount Network. With most viewers watching weekly on cable, it also likely eliminated much of the show's potential viewing audience on streaming, thus resulting in poorer streaming minutes accumulation in earlier seasons. Another part of the show's resurgent success could be attributed to the release of the 1923 spinoff series and the level of hype that continues to surround it.

Why Yellowstone's Streaming Numbers Are A Good Sign The fact that Yellowstone's streaming numbers are good is a positive sign for the future of both the original series and Taylor Sheridan's greater Yellowstone plans. After more than four seasons on the air, the show is starting to get even bigger by expanding on the Dutton family's historical legacy.
