Volpe’s 16 defensive runs saved was second-highest in the American League.
Volpe knows he must improve. His .209 batting average, 167 strikeouts and .666 OPS aren’t going to cut it in pinstripes. His consensus grade inwas a C+. Extended woes at the plate for Volpe were even more of a glaring issue on a team that struggled mightily at stringing hits together and scoring runs.
