The Trump administration plans to release guidance as soon as this month for granting states waivers to convert Medicaid funding to block grants,
according to two people familiar with the matter, paving the way for a transformation of the 55-year-old program that is likely to reignite a partisan feud.
Trump is attacking Medicaid, food stamps, the Affordable Care Act ( Obama Care). Do you see a pattern here of taking from the poor and giving to the rich?
Comments to an article usually turn out to be the best way to get an idea about an ideological/partisan biase of the authors. WSJ recent trend is ... growing part of paper content written by left writers, determined fast growing proportion of left trolls in comments.

What a piece of garbage. I wish that the rich conservatives who salivate at the thought of kicking people off medicaid had to experience, even for just a few days, what it’s like to be chronically ill, out of medicine and without coverage
Those who legitimately need Medicaid should continue to have it. Otherwise, no.
Okay - anything Trump/administration does ignites the Left. What else is new. When the jobs market was in the gutter, Medicaid was expanded to accommodate those who couldn't get jobs. Now that unemployment is way down, why continue that.
Adjusting Medicaid is the only way to get all on healthcare! Medicaid ran by and in Gov run facilities... Our current model is the VA system. Doing this will bring down premiums considerably for all!!
Perfect...he thinks this will get him re-elected? Not bad enough he’s an impeached president? Bring it on...
Convert? This has to be illegal.
Here in California we went big for Medicaid expansion costing the Fed and state taxpayers $billions, yet reimbursement rates are so low no-one wants to take medi-cal patients. These folks still clog our ERs.
I remember bein at a townhall with Pallone in Kingsburg NJ telling residents that there was no longer need for the army core of eng. to maintain dunes on the areas coast because the need wasn’t there... then Sandy hit a few years later...

Nobody should forget that trump promised to destroy Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security on day 1 of his second term.
States should be allowed to experiment with different Medicaid models, including systems of public hospitals and HMOs.
Beware a Trump plan!!
With this administration all I have are grift sirens going off. Now on a state level.
Here they go again! It's taken a couple of years (had to split refugee families, despoil the environment, screw students & do some other shit 1st) but they are going after the safety net w/a vengeance now. Worried this may be there last opportunity?
Did he hire Ayn Rand?
Hard to tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Since Medicaid is a government entitlement, we can assume it is being abused. But question is are we going to make it better or worse?
Proof read. Covert or convert?
and so, the screwing of the 'little people' continues apace...think you guys can get everything you need done & drain all wealth from middle & lower classes by November? you sure givin' it the old college try!
Ignore the guidance it will be curvy bendy and cul de sac time ultimately
It’s not covert if everyone is blabbing about it.
Convert... Missed an n
What happened to fixing healthcare and it was easy to fix?
Wow- these good smart -whites in red states did not want it from Obama because it will make them live longer..
Why don’t you just get rid of Medicaid because you hate the poor. At least be honest to the public about your hopes and dreams. POS administration.
