After dropping hundreds of millions of dollars on his bid for the White House, Michael Bloomberg quietly paid $44.79 million for a Colorado ranch

In the wake of his presidential campaign, billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg has quietly paid $44.79 million for a Colorado ranch, according to people with knowledge of the transaction.

Mr. Bloomberg bought the roughly 4,600-acre ranch in northwest Colorado from Henry Kravis, co-founder of private equity giant KKR. Known as “Westlands” and located about an hour’s drive from Aspen, the property was listed for $46 million early last year.

His bid of 2020 demonstrates his poverty in politics and foolishness in handling his easy money.

Why is it news?

So what

Bernie Sanders will be jealous

Going to be fun to watch his ranch get overrun by coyotes, wolves and vermin because he won't allow the ranch hands to have firearms.

Who cares ?

POS

Good for him. He earned it.

Well turn the heat off and don't air-condition it and help save the planet we have a very short period of time.

Because unlike the “billionaire” in the White House, he actually has money to spend.

Wait till he tries to get the boys in NW Colorado to give up their guns... That should be interesting.

MikeBloomberg you should also pay all those people you said you would who came to work for for your campaign.

Aren't democrats suppose to donate all their money to the IRS? Do socialist billionaires exist? Who understands this people!

Good for him. He earned it.

Competing with Bernie to see who has the most mansions!

HOW CAN HE DURING THESE TIMES. WAIT 3 years at least please

Asshole

I object to the use of the word “quietly” in these types of articles. How does one “quietly” pay for something. Give me a break

Typical liberal. Do as I say, not as I do.

Is there oil & natural gas under that property?

It’s always so stunning how little imagination these billionaires have. He has more money than can be counted, and all he can think to do with it is run for president and buy big houses. No wonder he always looks so sad and alone.

Quiet no more.

I kinda agree with AOC on this one. Rich people like him really shouldn't exist!

'Quietly paid' is an attempt to dramatize this non-story

I thought Wall Street Journal cared about rich people.

Meanwhile, he reneged on a promise to pay workers, forcing them to sue. Have lost all respect for him. BloombergCheats

So what. He can buy what he wants with his money...non story.

Maybe you could just get to know me a bit better - there's a global 'silicon valley' going on. Emmet.

We don't want him

he is probably puzzled why you guys consider it pricey and more importantly, why you guys care

I like the wall street journal.

This guy has no idea what the average person thinks. He is a megalomaniac.

He had to get the standard package instead of deluxe because... democraticprimary

So what! His money.

I presume he paid for it himself, as he has not contacted me to ask me to set up a GoFundMe for him; therefore, I approve this purchase.

Ah... Corruption there also alive... And present!

'It's good to be the king.'

Well, not that quiet since you guys found out!

Even though it’s a higher elevation, please tell him it will not make him taller.

Who cares?

“Quietly” is the most sinister of all the ways to acquire real estate.

Is he a happy man though?

But he couldn’t keep his promise of paying campaign workers for the year

You can't take it with you.

He can explore the spacious grounds on his pick from a stable full of mini horses.

Is there a way to do it loudly!!!

Getting ready for his next coming.

Great. I wish he would go there and disappear into irrelevance.

As a landlord, business owner, son of an economist, NYGovCuomo has doomed NY. He extended New York’s eviction moratorium by two months, until August. If tenants aren’t paying, how will landlords pay their mortgages, taxes, insurances, water bills; With blood? RepSeanMaloney

He wouldn’t announce that he spent $44.79 mil anymore that the rest of us would announce that we spent a few bucks on a cup of coffee. Really wealthy people don’t feel the need to prove that they are wealthy.

Consolation prize.

Maybe he can lock up trump in his sheshed on the property.

Lucy seller and real estate agent.

Now that's a BIllionaire. The guy in the White House is a pretender. TrumpFailedAmerica

Breaking news: billionaires spend alot of money 😱

😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒

The country life, huh? Someone should get ahold of Cheney in WY and see if he needs a new hunting buddy.

Why didn't he buy Colorado?

Whats the meaning of quietly paid? Was he supposed to publish an advertisement. And if he had done so, you'd be writing an article about how he flaunts his wealth. It's like you can't win either way.

Good for Michael. Well deserved for a man who had a great idea and made billions. The Democrats would have been wise to pick him.

Who cares? People are dying, a madman is in the WH and this is what you write about? 🤦‍♀️

And?

And yet no mention of charitable donations to food banks or anything else.

Wants to vote in a swing state. Admirable.

Well, if he has the money, let him spend it!

How do you noisily pay for real estate ?

Who gives a shit? He made a lot of money - good for him.

Is it big enough to bury his embarrassment?

Look for a lot of New Yorkers to move into the open space west of the Mississippi.

So what is the news here? I must be missing something. Is the Coronavirus pandemic and the destruction of our country by the narcissist in the White House not news worthy enough for your news organization that you are willing to waste resources in gossip? Get a life!

Does he suck the pizza cheese off his fingers there as well?

At least it’s his own money. He didn’t steal from we, the taxpayers.

So he worked hard for it so let him spend his money in peace

I bet he shoots guns on it.

This guy was actually polling well for the party who is (supposedly) against the elite. Ironic. Bloomberg and Bezos, two billionaires, happen to also own leftist media corporations. The irony.

His Money at least it's NOT taxpayers $$$

How is that news?

Shoulda done this from the get go. Into the sunset.

Good he can hide there in seclusion for the rest of his life.

So what you’re saying is he’s very wealthy?
