West Coast residents struggle with psychological burden of repeated evacuations as wildfire seasons worsen.

Austin Giannuzzi cries while embracing family members at the burned remains of their home during the LNU Lightning Complex fire in Vacaville, Calif., on Aug. 23, 2020.Meg Keene was just starting to get her children back into a routine, a new normal amid the anxiety and disruption of the coronavirus pandemic,Keene, founder of Practical Media Inc., has found that months of fires have exacerbated her 7-year-old son’s issues with depression, anxiety and ADHD, she told NBC News.

“I sort of joke that like, possibly my son was the only person actually having a sane reaction,” Keene said. “I was like, ‘Well, you could call it a mental health crisis or you could call it sane.’”

.... don’t buy property to close to where fires happen constantly? Some of those homes burn down every 10 or 9 years.

California needs to manage their forests.

Yes,..this is real global Warming, alerting all of us for well being of whole universe, act from right now for good results in coming future...

When you combine the impact of wildfires such as evacuations and debilitating air quality with the already isolating nature of the pandemic, this is trauma on a daily basis

Heck yeah! When we had the Carr Fire up here in Redding, CA we were all on edge, had our things ready to go 'just in case', scary stuff!

Two in the space of 4 months.

wow

What no masks?

God bless these people. Awful.

If you do nothing to change, as seen by your election. You can only blame and bitch at yourselves. The whole world is full of problems. Y’all just don’t work to solve any of YOURS !!

Stop building in fire zones! Mental health crisis averted.

🥰🥰🥰🥰

They still vote for Dems who cause these policies so that's their problem.

So they build houses in ill-advised areas, don't maintain the forests, know they're in the potential path, and claim it's getting worse because of climate change, but then expect sympathy when the exact thing predicted happens? Here's a solution, live literally anywhere else.

And as I have to live off-grid now, the fires in CA have also caused my PTSD to go off, loosing my inheretance having to shelter because of plauge and wildfires.

Sad, very sad...praying!

Thought climate change was a hoax😟

Please take quick POLL and see how you compare to others: Has Putin and his FSB spy agency compromised President Trump? (comments welcome)

The media in America is mostly dead. Today they resemble Russian Pravda. When I turn on the media (NBC, ABC and the like) I can only spend a few minutes watching before I have to change the channel before becoming nauseous.

My Hart felt dear

They deserve it.

Living in fear of your home going up in flames is very real.
