World leaders at the G-7 summit are discussing how to address China's human rights issues

PLYMOUTH, England — The Group of Seven wealthy democracies tussled Saturday over how explicitly to admonish China over human rights in an upcoming joint declaration.

“This morning was to go a little bit deeper on some of the… more challenging elements within the G-7 positioning on how hard to push and to call out some of the actions that China is taking,” said a senior U.S. administration official. According to the senior U.S. administration official, France is broadly supportive of singling out China over its forced labor practices, but EU, German and Italian diplomats were more hesitant.

Merkel said the G-7 countries had all committed themselves to a "rules-based international and multilateral cooperation mechanism" in dealing with China, involving international organizations. “Western democracies who are in the G-7 should not be reluctant at all to pursue all those actions where it’s appropriate, even contesting,” Canadian High Commissioner to the U.K. Ralph Goodale told reporters on Friday.Diplomats are finalizing the wording of what they’re calling “Build Back Better for the World” . It’s an Initiative to free up hundreds of billions of dollars from both government and private industry for developing countries that might be inclined to take funding from China.

So the mass murderers, supporters of terrorism, and destroyers of countries want to get tough with China on human rights? China will continue to rise as the UK/US/EU/NATO fall.

Amazing how they do a photo op on discussing how China treats their people and then keep on using the low cost of production and do nothing? We just faced a horrible Chinese Virus as even said on the site for Spain? Italy very upset over CHINA and the VIRUS but we do nothing?

While they're discussing China's human rights issues, why don't they also start discussing Israel's apartheid state approach to controlling the Palestinians.

Good idea, they should talk about USA and the UK while they’re at it!

after selling us out to China since Clinton.

I hope President Biden is discussing diversity because there is none with the G7. Perhaps more diversity would enhance the understanding of human rights.

If we want to address the issues with the CCP’s China, the best way is for those countries in the G-7 to stop relying on labor and goods from China. In the US in particular, it could also help our immigration issues if we sent more of those jobs to the Northern Triangle.

stop gonosaid in tigray rign

We better worry about our own human rights here in America with black people getting killed by dirty cops.

Tibetans & Uyghurs ?

Biden is hardly the leader they are looking for to deal with China !

They can discuss all they want but nothing is going to change. China doesn’t even care about what its own people think, what makes you think China is going to give a damn what the world thinks?

What about G7 themselves? Anyway, you/they can't do anything to/with China. And they know it, China also. Just another pointless waste of time and fabrication of own importance as always.

Biden flourishes in Trump’s absence from the world stageJoe Biden had many messages for U.S. allies during his first foreign trip as president. But perhaps none were more pronounced than this: I’m not Donald Trump. Still an old white guy that doesn’t know how to use his words. I am sure Biden was giving everybody a 'please forgive us' hand-job. The question is was he good enough for round two? Well that's obvious. Trump still retains his faculties, while Biteme picks dead dandelions to give to his wife while being filmed.
