A Honduran worker injured in the collapse of a Hard Rock Hotel under construction in New Orleans is being held for deportation, immigration authorities say.

reported that Ramirez was arrested by Border Patrol agents for allegedly fishing without a license at the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge.

The lawsuit filed Friday in New Orleans civil court alleges developers, architects, engineers and others are liable for the collapse. Ramirez and five other workers are seeking damages, including pain and suffering and loss of earnings. The suit claims the six plaintiffs"sustained serious injuries when the upper floors of the structure under construction began to fall apart, crumble, and collapse upon said workers present on the site."

The collapse killed three people and injured at least 18, authorities said. The cause remained under investigation. ICE's Cox said Ramirez will receive treatment for injuries he suffered in the collapse while he is in federal custody.

Masky_Jay_Hoody This is what greedy companies are doing. Hiring illegal immigrants at low wages who need the work and money.

Get the owner of the company he works for too.

So what? If he is due for deportation, then deport - what’s the fuss about?

Maybe businesses should only hire American citizens. Oh that's right, morality is 'different' for them. 🤔

So?

NBCLatino The cruelty and rscism is neverending

NOT true! The man being held has a SIMILAR name, is not the same person from the collapse. Plus the man arrested was caught while FISHING. The man in the collapse is severely hurt. Don’t know about you all but if I’m SEVERELY hurt fishing is not on my to do list! FakeNews

How come illegals are able to find work but so many homeless can’t I still don’t get that all homeless people that are able body can’t find any type of work

Disgusting

deplorable

Insult to injury.

Talk about having a bad week

ufff duro

Flaminglunatic1 The injured Honduran immigrant guest worker should only concern himself with recuperation from injuries sustained at the HardRock site at corporate expense. His direct report supervisor &the owner of the building should be jailed-defective building materials?

OMG! Lord have mercy!

He was ordered deported in 2016.. should never be working here.

Good. Also, charge the construction company

Oh ! the old' Deport His butt out of the Country, before He can get paid by His employer,s cheap, under covered, Crappy insurance ' trick.🤔

Oh so you mean an American company hired him to do low wage, dangerous work? Why isn’t the company being punished?

Good! Now fine the employer and make them pay for his medical expenses. Doubt he was covered by workers comp.

And i bet the company was NOT fined or their CEO arrested.

Compassion is dead
