Engineers have begun designing a replacement for the retaining wall on a stretch of the highway in Camden County.

The new wall, which the DOT calls Wall 22, “is currently under design with initial site work expected to begin this summer,” said Stephen Schapiro, a DOT spokesman. “The cost of repairing the wall and how it will be paid for have not been determined yet.”

Probably by the same company that originally built it, monitored by the same NJDOT inspectors that approved the work before it collapsed.

That’s Great, who cares its been almost 15 years. China woulda had this done in a week.

So we are looking at 2050 now . This company should be sued and the inspectors and engineers also. They knew their was a problem.

This work has been going on for decades and will never finish. Job security and tax draining the citizens should be investigated.

Absolute disaster of a project. Since it started I've graduated college, met a woman who I eventually married and had a baby boy with. He is now 4 years old. Say what you will but my son will finish college before this project is done.
