Tiger Woods no pasó el corte del Campeonato de la PGA después de incurrir en dos triples bogeys en los primeros dos hoyos del viernes en camino a una ronda de 77 golpes, seis sobre par de campo. Woods terminó la segunda ronda en Valhalla, donde ganó el título en 2000, con un acumulado de 149 golpes, 7 sobre par, empatado en el lugar 135.

En el segundo par cuatro trató de pasar por encima de una trampa desde un terreno empapado por la lluvia cerca del green, pero la bola se fue a la arena. Desde ahí intentó el siguiente tiro para salir, pasar sobre el green y terminar en otro bunker. Realizó en ese hoyo un total de siete golpes. Una escena similar se vio en el cuatro, par cuatro, que es el quinto más fácil de la semana.
