WonderWoman1984 nabbed $3 million between Friday and Sunday, bringing its total in the U.S. and Canada to $32.6 million. Overseas, the film grabbed $4.7 million for an international tally of $98.8 million.

” led domestic box office charts for the third straight weekend without much in the way of competition. The superhero sequel nabbed $3 million between Friday and Sunday, bringing its total in the U.S. and Canada to $32.6 million. Overseas, the film grabbed $4.7 million for an international tally of $98.8 million.

A surprising bright spot for the Amazonian warrior has been Canada, where only 5% of theaters are open and HBO Max is not available. Warners released the film concurrently in any available cinemas and on premium video-on-demand, a rare strategy that wouldn’t have been tolerated by film exhibitors in pre-pandemic times. Even more unprecedented, the studio actually divulged tangible digital sales, something that no Hollywood studio has be willing to share.

Without any new nationwide releases, a variety of holdovers rounded out domestic box office charts. In second place, Universal and DreamWorks’ “The Croods: A New Age” pulled in $1.8 million in its seventh week of release for a domestic tally of $36.8 million. Internationally, “The Croods” sequel crossed $90 million after adding $5.1 million from 17 overseas countries. Its global haul hovers at $127 million.

Sony’s thriller “Monster Hunter” took in $1.1 million, enough to land the No. 4 spot. After a month in theaters, the video game adaptation with Milla Jovovich has generated $7.8 million. “Fatale,” a psychological thriller with Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy, rounded out the top five with $670,000 in its fourth weekend of release. That brings its total to $4 million.

You’d expect a loss in the Covid era, but it’s still a success. The Wonder Woman creators are already well on their way to making their budget back. Considering most theatres are operating at less capacity or closed entirely, this shows how incredibly popular the film is.

Because the movie SUCKED!!!!

I thought it was about saving theaters. Why is anyone talking about soul's box office?

Industry needs to find different ways to calculate success of a film as over the next year won't perform anywhere nearly as strongly as they did pre-lockdown as what was a success then $1bn+ will be hard to come by this year with the exception of F9 BO will be inflated by China

Never understand why they talk about movie sales in dollar amount? Inflation makes ticket prices rise each year. (Ex:Of course 100k tix sold in 17” would be valued less in 2021) Why not refer to the amount of tickets sold instead?

TENET over $300M

Shut up with your hit job, click bait copy. We all know it'll make up the difference and more once it's no longer free and people have to pay to own or rent. Fuck outta here with everything after that first sentence.

It wasn’t a good movie.

that movie was a flaming dumpster fire —No one had anything else to watch congrats

que lindo, que continue assim

we know

A flop?

The movie is doing phenomenal considering actual competition from HBO Max, only 40% or theaters open with limited capacity, and oh yeah a roaring pandemic and constant civil unrest.

A Flop.

I don't have or won't get HBOMax and the online viewers said it was a POS so I'm bummed. Even if I had heard those reviews I'd still see it. I like all parties involved in the making of the movie. Oh well. My money went to food instead of HBO 🤷🏾‍♂️

The Croods that is already in VOD is making way better numbers in all territories. So no, the reason this movie is droping that hard it's because its quality, not exclusively due the pandemic. In fact Soul surpassed it in China with ease.

This movie was not as good as I thought it would be. I lost interest very quickly.

Went to the theather, afraid of the pandemic, just to watch PedroPascal1 at Maxwell Lord 1984

Theatres are still closed due Co Vid ,Major Markets are closed or the ones that are open only few people are going . also its on HBOMax.

How are the reviews on it?

Dead flop 🖕😭

There is no domestic box office stop trying to justify reporting news that is not newsworthy.

$7.2m from PVOD in Canada, nice to see studios sharing some PVOD grosses for a change

How?

It’s on top because it’s the ONLY real movie out!!! Not hard to be 1 in that case! Get outta here, this was trash!

Whole movie was like: I NEED BOYFRIEND 😩😩😩😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 WonderWoman1984

It was terrible.

Still a Flop
