A 61-year-old woman who was seen trying to “scoot” across a road in the Midway District was struck and killed by a car on Sunday night, San Diego police said.
A witness told police the woman was crossing Rosecrans Street near Hancock Street in a sitting position when she was hit around 10 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old man, stopped after the crash and cooperated with investigators, police Officer Sarah Foster said. The man told officers he did not see the woman in the road when he drove over her.
