A woman was fatally shot Sept. 16, 2022 while dropping children off at the Charity Child Care center on the west side of Indianapolis. No children were hurt.

A woman was shot and killed in the parking lot of a day care on Indianapolis’ west side Friday morning in front of children, according to police.

by going to the back alley east of Holmes Street from St. Clair Street. An officer and staff member from the day care are present to assist in picking children up, Burris said. Nothing related to the shooting occurred inside the day care building, Burris said. Police believe the woman was targeted, but as of Friday morning no suspects had been detained or arrested, she said.
