Tue, May 7th 2024 at 3:42 AMPHOENIX, Ariz. - A woman allegedly claimed she was "forced" to help set fire to a sofa store , which left two people dead., 44-year-old Katisha Susan Smith has been accused of helping to set a sofa store ablaze in Phoenix , Arizona on April, 27. Per the outlet, the fire, which began a little after 10 p.m., left two people dead.
According to KTVK, deputies were approached by an employee of a nearby business with surveillance video, which allegedly showed how the fire began. Per the station, citing court documents, the video shows two individuals getting out of an SUV at the sofa store. The video then reportedly shows a passenger hand a "heavy-set" driver an unidentified object, according to KTVK.
Autopsies confirmed that both people had been alive when the fire started, according to the station, which reported that a medical examiner classified both deaths as homicide, but has been unable to confirm their identities.
